NORDic Islands Action in Nature 2018 is a project focus on Nature, Food and Art exchange in the field of performance art. The project have five events, started in Gothenburg Sweden during summer, Faroe Islands, Åland Finland, continues to Svalbard Norway and last during Gothenburg Culture Night in Gothenburg city, where a conclusive event and a documentation exhibition to showcase the project, it process, exchanges, encounter and methodology within local and its community, an premier opening during the culture night in autumn at The Gothenburg City Library.

The selected islands share similar conditions; all of them are remote, geographically surrounded by water, mostly unspoiled, impressive landscapes and a very low population. The idea is to share different visions in geographical and cultural identity through food, awareness in doing art in extreme environment and sustainable development, by creating workshops, conversations and performance actions in the nature.  Artists based in Nordic countries are invited to have several encounters in different events on different islands, constructs dynamic meetings and exchange of knowledge.

The aim is to construct a perspective that involves natural environment and elements in the context into the creative process in performance art; by meetings, having and giving workshops, discussions and doing action together, to strength the nexus between art and community.  Furthermore, artists and new audiences have to re-think the relation with the nature as basis of awareness.
